Fun costumes, free candy, hanging out with friends: get ready for another exciting Halloween! Regardless of age, Halloween offers plenty of activities to participate in and enjoy. The festivities that occur on and around the time of Halloween are endless.

For those amused by a mixture of adrenaline rushes and 100-feet falls, Fright Fest at Six Flags never disappoints. With employees dressed as zombies and ghouls wandering the park grounds and rides such as the Titan and Mr. Freeze, Fright Fest leaves guests screaming. This event resembles a haunted house, but it takes place at an amusement park. What could be better than getting scared just as much on the ground as off?

Dallas ScareGrounds in Irving still offers incomparable scares after 14 years. Open Fridays and Saturdays  from 7:30 p.m. until 1 a.m.,  ScareGrounds charges extremely reasonable rates of only $ 20 per ticket; this allows entrance into all three of the haunted houses at ScareGrounds. The three haunted houses that make up the ScareGrounds, the Territorium, the Necrotorium and the Hallucinatorium each have their own special qualities that will keep guests screaming. Voted “Best Haunted House” in 1998 and 2003 by the Dallas Observer, Dallas ScareGrounds promises a fun time for all who dare to enter.

If you are interested in seeing a Guinness world record holder first hand, Cutting Edge Haunted House resides in Fort Worth and takes pride in being the world’s largest walk-through haunted house. However, if having nightmares for weeks doesn’t sound too appealing, Cutting Edge offers Halloween games and gives professional tips on how to create your own haunted house.

Regardless of these Halloween options for teenagers, trick-or-treating still remains one of the most cherished and enjoyed Halloween traditions. People of all ages enjoy dressing up and walking house-to-house showing off their costumes, if for nothing more than the free candy. There’s no feeling quite like returning home after a successful night of trick-or-treating, dumping out a huge bag of treats and sorting through to find your favorite sweets.

Occurring the following week, Halloween gets a run for its money this year trying to compete with homecoming parties and traditions. Keep Halloween exciting and try something new or maybe start some traditions of your own. Just make sure you pace yourself on eating all that candy!
