Adviser Abby Cole

I have been a journalism adviser for three years, of which two have been at Plano East Senior High School. I received my bachelor’s degree in advertising with a minor in marketing from the University of North Texas. I practiced public relations, advertising and marketing for two years before obtaining my teaching certificate in journalism. I enjoy interacting with students on a daily basis who are as passionate about journalism as I am. The students continually amaze me with their professionalism and dedication in producing a top-quality publication. I also teach yearbook and journalism classes, coach the UIL Journalism Teams, manage the East News Flash and Panther Pause, and do graphic design work for the school activity program.

Outside of school, I prefer to spend my time shopping, exercising, taking photographs and spending time with my friends and family. I have been married for four years and have two dogs, Ellie and Crockett. My husband and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first child in April.
